9 Shoe trends you need to be rocking in 2022

DISCLAIMER: I will be listing products that in the event you purchase, I stand to earn a commission off of it.

If 2022 is going to be your year, then you need to wear the best of the best from head to toe or toe to head and we are here to dish out all the footwear you need to be building Kylie Jenner style shoe closet for i.e  Stupidly big closets.

 Now some of these trends are being revived and are probably us feeding off the vintage fashion aesthetic before the 2000s. The 40's aesthetic is awakened through some cute slingback heels as we also channel our inner 70's fashionista when we rock platform or  "Chunky" heels too. Call on your inner 90's rebel with edgier and metallic shoes but also touch into your sifter side in the simplicity of ballet flats too.

Let's get into what your feet need to wear all through 2022;

1. Lace-up Shoes

Lace-up shoes are back with a vengeance and it looks SEXY! Before lace-up shoes were the knee-length gladiator boots every girl, in 2014, was struggling to remove after long uncomfortable strides in those monstrosities. Now lace-up heels are all that JAZZ!

Starting with my personal favorite lace-up shoes right now are these Lace Up High Heel Ankle Boots from Zaful. These heels are literally sexy all over.

Another lace-up shoe option for you could be these Embroidered Lace Up Block Heel Boots from New Chic. The cool intricate design makes them the perfect combo for solid colored clothes

Or maybe you want something other than Lace-up Boots, something more open, I have got the shoes for you, these Floral Beads Lace Up Thong Sandals

These are so cute and they would pair well with a cute mini sundress creating the quintessential summer fit. But for a more minimalist style, you could try Espadrille Leisure Straw Lace Up Sandals which are closed-toe sandals that I think are perfect for a picnic date, what about you?

2. Chunky Sandals
Chunky sandals are another 90's fashion moment we simply can't let go of and for good reason. Firstly, Chunky sandals are basically cool functional shoes that you can wear to the movies with friends and then go out with girls later that night.

For my minimalist babes, I present to you these Strappy Clear Vamp Square Toe Slip-On Sandals that would look so chic with a cinched cowl neck dress and a mini shoulder bag

3. Loafers

Now, this has notoriously been associated with an academic look but this 2022, we'll be wearing it with jeans, dresses, and skirts too. Loafers, this year, will be your secret weapon to adding a bit of polish to your usually unpolished casual look....you know the look.... that baggy pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and a white t-shirt that you usually add a pair of flip flops and a tote bag too.

So for that bit of polish, these are the loafers I recommend to you today;

These Jelly Gingham Block Heels Loafers which, as you can see in the image below, pair well with jeans giving it a dressy casual look without actually wearing a dress.

Then there are these Solid Color Rhinestone Chunky Heel Loafers, I will admit, at first sight, these look like the shoes Lord Farquad wore to his wedding with Fiona but with a beautiful skater skirt over a cute Long Sleeve top and a fur coat

Another loafer you should be wearing are these cute bowknot loafers that are actually a cross between a loafer and ballet flats. These cute shoes would be ideal for work or school even for a date with bae (for my girls who do not like to wear heels)

4. Cowboy boots

YEE-HAAA! Whether you wanna be the town sheriff or an Outlaw, cowboy boots will have you looking and feeling the part. Recently, we have seen more people pair their cowboy boots with a cute dressy dress which has taken them off the strictly "Casual" shoe list and into the "Mixed-use" shoe list.

Cowboy boots like these Chunky Heel Cowboy Boots with the cool contrast design....what I wouldn't do for these boots

Or these Vintage Embroidered Western Cowboy Boots with the cool simple line designs over the white leather

Maybe you would prefer something edgier like these Embroidered Skull Pattern Mid Calf Cowboy Boots regardless there's a cowboy boot for everyone

5. Platforms

Now if you know Lady Gaga, you know what platforms are and as much as we hated how flawlessly she moves in 9-inch platform heels, we can't hate the fact that 2022 is for platform shoes. We have been seeing varying silhouettes on the runway from Versace's Bratz-like Platform heels to Off-White's platform sneakers to Fabrizio Viti's platform sandals, the platform shoe has evolved

Starting with the Punk Rivets Platform Slides if you are feeling edgy and rebellious

 To the Mesh Insert Platform Two Way Sandals for a minimalist vibe

Maybe you wanna look sporty without actually being sporty then check these Faux Pearl Sporty Platform Slippers

6. Pointed toe Shoes

I guess we have got serious nostalgia for the Y2K era, especially for their pointed-toe shes whether it was pumps or boots. Pointed-toe boots kind of give me a Charlie's Angels vibe that has me feeling like the total badass that can kick ass in sexy shoes while the Pointed-toe pumps give major The Devil wears Prada kind of energy

Some of my favorite pointed-toe shoes that you should be wearing this spring 2022 are;

The PU Floral Pointed Toe Flat Shoes you can flaunt at work

Then there are these Patent Leather Pointed Toe Chunky Heel Boots that literally embody the Charlie's Angels

Then we have the Pointed Toe Solid High Heel Shoes for my Boss Babes to feel even more like a boss with slacks and a boujee blouse to pair with them

7. Ballet Flats

Now ballet flats may look boring and at times unflattering but we gotta have them this 2022! After spending almost 2 years inside our houses, it's no wonder we are gravitating towards more comfortable footwear that can easily switch from office appropriate to 'brunch with the girls' appropriate.

Try these Houndstooth Loafers Shoes Elegant Bowknot Flats which are another hybrid shoe that came out of marrying ballet flats and loafers.

For a lighter and more casual vibe, try these Breathable Hollow Out Ballet Flats

Maybe you like to see your feet moving well the tassels on these Casual Tassel Flowers Comfortable Flats  will give you the movement you need

8. 90's Mules

 Simple seems to be our theme for 2022 and 90's mules seemed to have gotten the memo. When I mean 'simple' I'm referring to the simplicity of slipping on a pair of beautiful mules as you are rushing out for a lunch date or to a dinner party with family and friends. You can wear a pantsuit with a pair of mules and look amazing! You can wear it with a slip dress and look gorgeous! You can even wear it with jeans and look chic!

Mules, baby, Mules are what we need.

or maybe you want something a bit more casual like these Lightweight Backless Slippers that resemble crocs and would be the perfect 'Market Day' type of shoes.

9. Bold colors

Another trend you need to be wearing this 2022 is bold and vibrant colors on your shoes. Colors like Lime Green, Hot Red, Banana Yellow are gonna be hard to miss this spring and not just because they stand out but because they'll make you stand out. You know the saying 'Go Big or Go home!', well this shoe trend is telling you to do just that! Have fun with beautiful colors of the rainbow in brightly colored shoes like these cool green fashion sneakers, I would literally wear those every day.

Then these sexy slippers in a fluorescent green add pop to a neutral or calm colored fit, like, if you wore these with this Irregular Strap backless dress. It would be a whole MOMENT!

2022 may have started a bit rough but at least we have the fashion to look forward to most especially the really pretty shoes. This year we won't be wearing crusty-ass shoes, no, we'll be wearing the best of the best and the chic-est of the chic-est.
